Our Story
I was inspired to create The Orange Pippins Seed Society in 2017 to share my love of gardening with my dirt-loving 3 year old son George and other young and young-at-heart gardeners. Curated kits of flower and vegetable seeds were created for their ease of growing, wow factor, and flavor. I also envisioned a sort of virtual 4-H club, harnessing the power of social media to connect growers to each other, sharing gardening triumphs and failures, and inspiring each other.
Since then, I have seen a move, a global pandemic, and the miracle arrival of George’s baby sister Grace. Orange Pippins has grown to include a full line of individual seed packets chosen by me as the seeds you NEED to grow. Some of them are old heirlooms, some are exciting new varieties, many of them are organic and grown right here in the Pacific Northwest. I’m as passionate as ever about getting new people gardening and spreading the word that SEEDS are important. They are alive, they are magic! They are rich in story: they are our history and heritage as well as our future.
